In 2001, Olajuwon attended the Tiger Woods Foundation Golf Camp in Chicago, Illinois, where he received instruction from Tiger Woods himself and met Earl Woods.

For a young golfer who dreamed of competing at the highest level, the experience was both inspiring and unforgettable. It reinforced a belief that golf could become more than a hobby. It could become a lifelong pursuit.
